It’s been a hectic few months for TTI. The TTE event (Travel Technology Europe) took place 22/23 March in conjunction with our partners from Centaur where we had our own TTI stand. This was very busy and a great success. We also took part in a Technology Huddle which was interesting and I helped with the judging of the best new up and coming technology company.
The March TTI/ETOA Conference was an amazing event with almost 100 people attending. We had some excellent speakers and the ‘Game Set and Match’ theme appeared to evoke some excellent presentations and opinions. A big thank you for the contributions of our two great sponsors Relay42 and Headforwards. Their support is very much appreciated.
We are looking at introducing both training and consultancy services that will be offered to TTI members going forward. More news on this shortly. These two services fit well with our pillars of Transformation and Education!
I am delighted we have seven new TTI Members: Air Black Box, Online Travel Training, CIE, Traverse, Sagittarius, Selective Asia, and Barrhead Travel. Please welcome them all to TTI. You can read about them in a new section in the newsletter – Introducing Our New Members.
Further news is that our new website is now up and running. Please feel free to pass on any comments to Liz. The site sits on the WordPress content management system, so if you have any suggestions for improvements we will be able to action them.
Looking forward to the rest of the year we have our Summer Forum on 6 June. We intend to build the forum around the new General Data Protection Regulations that are due to be implemented in 2018. GDPR could have a big effect on the industry, so do come along to find out how they may effect your business.
The Autumn Conference is scheduled for September 19 at the Strand Palace Hotel. The proposed topic is business and leisure coming together. This highlights now how important these elements are even if your main business is, say corporate, there is always also some requirements for leisure travel and vice versa. From this we will look at technology that works across both business and leisure Travel.
The TTIplaces initiative has been slightly delayed due to finalising contractual arrangements. Even so we expect the Beta Test sites to have started by the time you read this.
We are starting a big drive to encourage new members and have appointed a Head of Membership Services – Frederic Servieres. Read his article in this newsletter.
Do please spread the word about TTI yourself and get in touch if there is anyone you know who is keen on joining TTI.
TTI will be expanding over the next year or two and I am delighted that you, as a member, will be coming along the journey with us.
