Unicorn Ferry Licence
The Unicorn Electronic Data Interchange messaging standard was originally created to enable direct access to European ferry operators by travel agents for the creation of bookings, in an era before the Internet was available.
As the Internet emerged as the dominant communications channel, the use of Unicorn expanded to become the B2B communications standard of choice, capable of booking and ticketing ferry crossings and associated ancillary services.
Whilst the use of Unicorn has diminished in recent years as the e-commerce channel has evolved, it remains an important channel through which the wider travel market can integrate ferry bookings into their product offering.
The Unicorn standard is issued and managed by TTI, the official maintenance authority. Usage of the standard is subject to the purchase of an annual licence, the cost of which is £1,500 for non-TTI members and £1,000 for TTI members.
If you require further details concerning the licensing of Unicorn, please contact Phippa Barrett the TTI administrator.
